WATERMARKED BECAUSE THIS PIECE IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME. LAME, BUT TRUE.

---

... There should be character illustration category on DA. >___>|| I did this sometime over the summer in my Illustration 2 class, and it was on display at the student gallery at the place I take art classes for about a month and a half. I just got it back today, so yeah. As mentioned above, I watermarked this because it's very important to me. It's probably my first actual successful attempt at using acrylics (diluted with water, but still), and is also a sort of attempt to divert from the anime style I'm so used to. I'm still trying to find my own style, LOL... =A=;;

I still love drawing in the anime style, and yes, this still has quite a bit of anime influence in it, but I kind of think this is the first piece I've done in a while that I was consciously telling myself to make at least a little less anime-looking. It's also my first serious-serious attempt at character illustration. I picked my character Dasavhin (who I've never posted up on DA before because I don't really do illustrations for the original story he's from all that much), and he's kind of a personification of how I feel when shit happens to me, and believe me, LOTS of shit happened over the summer concerning numerous different things in my life. I have a lot of quick doodles of him in a folder in my room, but I'm never putting those here because they're just messy sketches that are close to impossible for me to clean up. >__>;;

LOL, that was a long-ass explanation. .___.|| And a rather stupid one at that. But I guess it works. Okay, now I'm rambling and ranting. *duct tapes mouth before she can blabber on anymore*

Tools:
- Pencil on bristol paper for preliminary sketch.
- Charcoal (applied to back of bristol paper) for transfer over onto illustration board.
- Sepia, red, yellow, green, and white acrylic paints for final linework and colors.
- Black and white watercolor pencils for finishing details.

Time: Around 35 hours on and off because I am such a slowpoke. =u=;;
